This colour temperature is called very warm white and is one of the most popular choices for ambient lighting in catering and hospitality industries.
Warm White Bulb Color. A color temperature of 27003600 K is generally recommended for most indoor general and task lighting applications. For office and industrial spaces higher numbers are just fine but for residential retail and other more nuanced spaces 2700 is just right.
Warm light is preferred for living spaces because it is more flattering to skin tones and clothing. A light bulb that produces light perceived as yellowish white will have a color temperature of around 2700K. Warm White 4000K 3000K 2700K 2000K looks more yellow and orange to your eye.
The light created by these bulbs has been the standard for over 130 years giving off a slightly yellow glow that creates a warm cozy atmosphere. Color temperatures of 2700 3200 kelvin are considered warm light. Daylight 5000 to 6500 Kelvin has a more bluish tone.
Not everyone likes the 2700K incandescent bulb color however and certain installation locations could benefit from a higher color temperature. Certain spaces in traditional and transitional homes typically look best under 2700K LED warm white light because it gives off the glow similar to candlelight gas light and old fashioned incandescent lights reminiscent of classic homes. Just keep in mind that the lower the Kelvin number the more red the color will be.
