For more than five years our landscape lighting has been working perfectly fine off of a 500 WATT transformer with 12V providing power to four sections.
Landscape lights won t turn off. We suggest you look closely at each light and its connection. If the lights turn on initially and then shut off the transformer is either overloaded or is shorting out. We can troubleshoot these issues for you and most often all that is needed is a splice to connect the wire.
SCROLL to select the desired photocell. Check to make sure the toggle switch is in the correct position or see if your fuse stat is blown. If you have already checked to make sure that your timer is set properly reset your GFCI outlet and your outdoor landscape lighting is still not coming on your next step is to check and see if a breaker has tripped in your electrical panel.
I think its because the Cadmium-Sulfide CdS photocells in light-sensitive switches fluctuate in value over time and can go bad. If your GFCI is shut off try pressing in the reset button to see if it restores power. While the above steps will fix a large percentage of the issues we see it wont fix them all.
If it is connected to the electrical panel check if the breakers are not turned off. Hedge trimming trenching or nearby construction are most often the culprits. Lamps are burning out prematurely.
What to do about it. Outdoor lights powered by the homes 120 V electricity typically require a transformer wiring system fixtures and attached bulbs. The closest lamp to the transformer is burning out prematurely.
As a result your lighting might turn on and off at the wrong times. Then remove the tape and make sure they turn off. There should be a toggle switch or a fuse stat inside the transformer.
